I’ve been saying “um” a lot

I’ve been saying “um” a lot About 2 weeks ago I began saying “Um” a lot, as in pretty much every other word and sometimes when I’m stuck on a word I’ll say it repeatedly. It’s never happened to me before but it’s uncontrollable for me. I don’t know why I began saying it a lot or how to stop saying it. It’s definitely because of my stuttering. It’s also landed me into awkward conversations. At least it’s awkward to me because I feel like the person I’m talking to is getting impatient with me and will stop listening. Have any of you experienced this before? If so, do you have any advice?
