I mostly block too. On bad days, it's a long pause before every word and it takes me an uncomfortable amount of time to get words out. On good days, no one would know I stutter. It's totally random and doesn't seem to be tied to any particular emotion for me so I can never see it coming. If it's a really bad day, it turns into multiple days or longer.
