I personally dont think a few sentences would really teach them much, especially if they dont block. If they half ass those they'll experience the same mild uncomfortableness or awkwardness everyone feels most of the time. But I get that theyre scared. They don't want to do willingly do something scary and painful that they dont have to. or if they do try it they only want a small taste, which completely sidesteps the point of the exercise imo. Everyone has normal disfluencies sometimes. You have them too, you just never notice them because they're not worth noticing. The small glimpse would be any bit of time you spend where you don't want to. and you dont let yourself immediately leave (despite having the knowledge that unlke us, you can any get out any time you want). I can see why y'all might worry about being offensive. I'd probably have those same concerns if I were in your shoes. But you're doing it for a good reason, so there is no offense to take. Quite the opposite, admiration that someone is willing to walk in our shoes, even for a moment. And im not surprised most of your classes are half assing it or making it up entirely. They're being pussies, but in their defense this is also not an easy thing to do. They probably arent interested in stuttering and hopefully they won't have clients who stutter. As for me, I do stutter. It fluctuates like all of us, but most of the time it's pretty severe.
