First of all, I must congratulate you. You’ve endured not only a crippling speech disability, but incredible family hardships. I am glad that you’ve stuck with it. You’re an example of true perseverance, and you should be proud of yourself! Take advantage of the therapy. This speech therapy is free and never harmful; you have nothing to lose by doing it. Therapy helps a lot of people in many ways. For me, therapy allowed me to overcome my lack of speaking confidence. 2 years ago, I wouldn’t even raise my hand in class for a simple ‘yes/no’ question. Presently, I’m in my school’s speech club and frequently give presentations. There is hope, sometimes you just have to work at it. I wish you all the best with your family and stuttering. Keep that flame of hope ablaze, no matter how dim it is, for one day you’ll be able to see how much it paid off.
