Not to be rude, but your mom might be right. Adding words to alleviate stuttering can in turn become part of the stuttering. That goes for all "tricks". Better to work on managing the specific stuttering sound itself. What I'm more worried about, though, is that you "flipped out". We should not land ourselves in situations where we elicit uncontrollable anger. Is this something that happens a lot to you?
