For me, public speaking is difficult, I can lose sleep over it and spend hours practicing my speech. I think the thought of stuttering leads to anxiety and the anxiety leads to more stuttering. I think being able to desensitize yourself to public speaking and maybe accepting your stuttering is probably the first few steps. Next you can work on fluency techniques. **How to desensitize yourself?** You can practice more public speaking with friends, volunteer church groups, or join a speech club like toastmasters. **How to accept your stuttering?** Join a stutter support group [westutter.org](https://westutter.org) has local listings for America. We also have the discord stutter support group (link in sidebar). Try to accept that stuttering is just the way we talk (stutter beautifully), we can probably increase our fluency, but most likely you will continue to have some disfluency. **Fluency techniques?** Read self help books and/or find and work with a speech therapist. 2020 and the covid-19 pandemic has caused more stress and anxiety, don't blame yourself, 2020 has upended our habits and lives. *>> After that this made me angry and I really am determined to improve myself.* In order to change, you need a plan. What's your plan?
