Do you sometimes think that they are oblivious to how bad a person who stutters feels about their speech because they never had to think about their own speech because they are fluent and they just wanted to crack a joke, lighten the mood, break the ice, etc. Maybe we should not live in our depressive state of minds and move out to their perspective and just laugh it off as a joke. Personally, I don't mind such things as long as they continue to converse and talk and are friendly inspite of knowing that you stutter. There are many who are repulsed by it and don't even want to talk to you for so many reasons.
