Hey there, your story really resonated with me. I'm also a woman and have had a mild to medium severity stutter my whole life. I'm largely covert (though am trying to bring it more out into the open), and my parents definitely knew but never seemed that bothered by it -- they seemed to think I'd grow out of it. Spoiler: I didn't. Ask them for help. I truly understand that it's hard; it was for me, too. But ask them for help and don't let it go. Speech therapy could help you a lot in learning how to manage this.
