I’ve noticed that if somebody is confident and really wants to convince the audience he usually manages achieving it. BTW it relates especially to those with confabulation stories. I knew some PWS who despite their significant speech difficulties were good storytellers. And vice versa: those with mild stuttering preferred to stay silent out of fear to make bad impression.
