i hate giving pity too but i never tell to someone that im a stutterer so when i am in a presentation they expect an average one but I think they realize because I've never had a bad presentation grade . Curiously when I have studied a lot for an oral lesson my confidence is high and I hardly stutter if I know what I am saying. Happily no one has ever finished a sentence for me that would bother me a lot they just stop looking me in the eye and I think they feel uncomfortable thats my friends do .
