I don't think you ever really stop. I suffered badly in elementary and in lesser extents high school, but have "grown out of it" and people wouldn't believe I ever did. That being said, I catch myself tripping on words once in awhile, especially when I am waiting for a turn to talk, and break out in a cold sweat internally. I think it will always be with us.
