I can’t read out loud for shit. Reading is actually the worse for me because when I have a block on a sound, I can’t get around it. You can’t give a word a different starter sound (wait you can! It’s called easy onset iirc) I have limited success with easy onset but it’s still shitty and I avoid reading in public at all costs. When you talk to yourself, that’s was referred to as self talk in a research paper I found once. The participants actually didn’t stutter when they were in a room by themselves and unaware of a recording device. It gives insight in stuttering being socially related. I don’t know, it’s just something to think about. Thanks for the comment at the end, it’s always refreshing to get reminded that yeah, we’re on a rock floating in a endless void in a universe so big we could never fathom it. What’s the big deal of it takes me 3-4x the amount of time to say something than anyone else?!
