Well for me, i noticed that when I know a bad stutter storm is coming I tend to say more than I have to. I become long winded to get around saying the “stutter” word and take FOREVER to make my point. It’s so annoying. But, if I calm myself down and make everything short and sweet, while being warm and inviting, the patron doesn’t mind my little stutters and the conversation ends quickly and I don’t feel so crappy. I just have to keep in mind that the customer is there and talking to me because they need my help, not to watch me struggle with my stutter. I also find that having something to point to while talking takes the edge off of my stutter, idk why. Hope any of this helps. Good luck!
