I completely understand where you’re coming from. In my experience I found it works better for me to disclose it whenever I have a moment where I stutter. Unless it’s just like a one time conversation like giving directions or something. I’ll usually just have a conversation and if I had a bad block which I do whenever I say my name, I’ll just say something lightheartedly like “no I didn’t forget my name I just have a stutter.” Kind of make a joke about it to lighten the mood. It usually helps me so I’m not overthinking during the conversation what this person is thinking of me.
