Well, I think the easiest way to think of it is that we are in multiple ways, depending on what we're doing. There's no singular way that we are in (or are not in, as it were). This might actually be rather important to realize, if we sit around feeling like we're "not ourselves", merely on account of some situations not going exactly how we would like them to go. It's also important to figure out how we want to _be_ - what to _become_. Stutter isn't stopping us in the overall project of changing in various ways. It's just that if we consistently stay away from certain things, on account of not wanting to risk a stutter, we might lose out on things that we could do anyway. So perhaps that's what it would mean if there was a source of 'not being ourselves' - if we stop *doing* things that we *want* to be doing. Stutter doesn't exclude it - it's just a factor (like with so many other things). You see what I mean? Like, I could say I was meant to play the violin, if only I had the instrument. But that doesn't mean I could necessarily _actually play_ the violin, unless I actually tried the instrument. Yeah?
