Stuttering coming back because of college Hi everyone, i recently found this subreddit and I love it, its so nice to see people sharing their experiences. Lately ive been going through a brutal amount of stress so would like to get something off my chest. Ever Since i was a 6yr old ive had stuttering problems, its been a long journey dealing with it but a few years ago it became almost unnoticeable (did pretty good at at a call center job, had long conversations with strangers even under high amounts of stress etc.) it remained that way until now. I went through an extremely hard and mentally draining physics subject in my career. After failing said subject i noticed my stutter came back really bad, its one of the worst moment i have faced and i just don't know why. I know it has something to do with stress and anxiety since that has always been the reason of my flare ups. A few days ago i went to the hospital to request a doctors appointment and i got into a loop where i just couldn't say anything besides ”umm” it was extremely distressing although after regaining my pace i pushed myself to get the appointment. I have also experienced freezing and i can physically feel my throat “locking“ again, especially with simple requests and hard consonant sounds. This has not happened to me since i was 13, im really worried (currently im 20). I would certainly appreciate some tips if any of you has gone through a similar experience. Thanks!
