I am 25 and I stutter since childhood and I am living abroad for the past 2 years. People are much more accomodating in the non-native country and if you are thinking that they'll laugh, that's not gonna happen. I stuttered pretty bad and everyone was accomodating enough to listen to me throughout so remove that thought out of your heart. Also, don't let your stuttering define you, like get good at something so that people remember you for that thing rather than the speech impediment. Moreover, it's not about people remembering you, it is about you remembering yourself. If you think about yourself and first thing comes to your mind is you are a stutterer then that is negative reinforcement, instead, get good at something and base your identity around it.
