Just found this sub reddit, finally got a place to rant about my test score https://imgur.com/dDekBTa So I recently took the TOEFL exam, and bombed the Speaking section – no surprise there. Only problem is that I was disappointed in my self and a little embarrassed to explain why my speaking was so poor compared to my other sections. I always try to explain it away by saying "It was so difficult"(it wasn't); or "I didn't know what to say"(I did) – just frustrating because nobody around me would understand my plight. Before the test night, I literally spent 100% of my time trying to get in rhythm for the speaking section, I couldn't sleep; I was very anxious. I also tried memorizing some " formulas", sadly, they were designed for "normal" speakers. I'm not even sure I would be able to do better than this score, in fact, I think the scorer was very lenient with my score because I was honestly expecting a "15". I literally had speech blocks for 10sec straight in the first section and didn't finish any other section due to blocks. It just sucks when something beyond your control is limiting your future goals. PS- my choice school requires a minimum of 23 in the speaking section, so I'm out. I don't think they would accept my excuse of having a stutter. Just wanted to get this off my chest without looking like an idiot! Edit:spellings and grammar.
