I stutter (my dad stuttered as a child) and I have an almost 4 year old son. He does not stutter (yet), but he has been diagnosed with Apraxia. He also has a significant expressive speech delay because of it. He didn't say any words except daddy until after age 3. He is just now starting 2 word phrases, which usually happens at 18-24 months. With that being said, Ive been told (by a SLP/professor who specializes in stuttering) that stuttering doesnt present itself until they start linking multiple words together, so technically my son may still stutter. I really hope he doesnt have BOTH, but I think the odds are very low (knock on wood).
