The stress thing is so real. My baseline stuttering always spikes when I have major life changes going on - right now I'm moving to a new place, am dealing with some medical stuff and job uncertainty, and I can feel it getting worse. Relaxation exercises haven't really helped, so I generally sigh, roll with it as best as I can, and wait for my life to settle down a bit and the stutter to settle with it. Which, for the record, it always has. (The one I really couldn't explain was when my stutter began spiking three months *before* my job took a turn into major stress territory and I ended up job-hunting. Maybe I was subconsciously picking up on something... or maybe my stutter knows the future?)
