This 👏🏻 I’m an SLP grad student and I totally agree with this. SLPs are not counselors or therapist and we receive very little of this type of education in our grad programs (I had approximately 5 hours total on counseling techniques in my whole program). Stuttering is routinely the area SLPs say they feel the least prepared to treat. I think it has a lot to do that we aren’t prepared to help address the mental and psychological aspects of stuttering.
