Have you ever tried regular therapy? I had one session of speech therapy when I was 8 years old and I hated it. I'm 38 now and I speak fluently 99% of the time. I stumble with some sounds but I don't get blocked anymore. Psychological therapy has helped me deal with my emotional issues. My intense frustration was driving my depression and making my stuttering a hell of a lot worse. The stutter wasn't the issue is the point I'm making. Avoiding speaking almost destroyed my life and my confidence. I got a job doing some basic admin work and I had to speak on the phone and in person. I couldn't really avoid it. My speech has improved immensely since then. I now have a decent job and no longer avoid speaking to people. I will always stutter and be a person who stutters but it no longer bothers me.
