Stuttering and rapping/fast lyrics

Stuttering and rapping/fast lyrics I’m just curious if anyone has also heard/been told that learning to rap helps stuttering but you’ve personally found that not to be the case and instead your stutter (and even your coping mechanisms to avoid an incoming stutter) seems to be a block on even learning the words to your favorite songs with fast lyrics? This question/scenario isn’t rap-exclusive, as any song where the verses are sung at much faster speeds could cause the same issue (System of a Down comes to mind in terms of verse speed). I feel like I sort of learn the words but can never get them straight even when reading them out loud at half the tempo - I get stuck or flip around words (like verbal dyslexia) because it’s what my mouth is able to get out without stuttering. Verses with alliteration definitely make it worse for me. And there are words that I’m not about to sing along to, so it’s possible the skip over impacts the cadence/flow - but there’s still plenty of lines without that skip that I get twisted on. Side Note: So yes, I am a white woman, but I’m not trying to show off in public like I’m in high school again pining to be Natalie Portman (very cringe of me, you are correct). This topic has just been on my mind since one of my fave artists dropped two new albums. I’m not upset about it or asking how to fix it, and I’m well aware that as a white woman this does not have the same social/cultural implications and issues that a Black person in this scenario may experience. *Especially* with the stories out there on how “rapping fixed my stutter.”
