My stutter is neurological, so not exactly the kind you have. Not every stutter is the same in terms of cause, sound, and treatment. However, the societal challenges are usually the same regardless. Luckily this subreddit has a litany of conversations archived about dealing with stuttering. My best piece of advice is to try your best to self-analyze your stutter. Try and feel where it begins - do you repeat words, have blocks, struggle more with certain sounds, etc? If you try your best to personally understand the stutter as best you can, you can start with practical solutions to help you in the meantime (before professionals assess your situation). Some of the practical solutions could be using alternative words/syllables for words you have trouble saying. You could try easy onsets or pacing your speech evenly. There are lots of different strategies depending on what you discover about it yourself. I can't give you any medical advice because I'm not a professional, but this was the best strategy for me before I was seen by the proper doctor, and it helped more than the doctor did.
