Have SSRIs helped anyone here?

Have SSRIs helped anyone here? I suffer from a lot of depression and anxiety related to stuttering. I manage ok. I have a good job and happy marriage, but my stuttering is at an all time low and pretty severe. I feel stressed and depressed everyday. I’m considering giving Lexapro another go. I took it a decade ago and I feel like I was in a much better place mentally than I am now. Have any of you had luck with ssris?
