Please have hope. I. 77f have stuttered since the age of 5. Our wonderful daughter began to stutter at the age of 3. She, like many children of even fluent parents, went through a period of normal disfluency when learning to speak. She was fluent by the age of 5 and has no memory or ever stuttered. Don’t lose hope. Children can recover regardless of genetics. btw. Both my mother-in law as well as my father stuttered in parts of their lives. Regardless, in my daughter’s case it was transient. Perhaps that’s the case with your son.
