Any tips on meeting people? I’ve been on a fluency streak for a bit but recently I had an episode when words don’t feel like working as of late. I started an internship a couple days ago and I had to introduce myself individually to the team members. That was interesting…. When people ask me for my name thankfully I can say my first name (last name is another story) and instead of saying my first name outright since that can cause me to stutter, I’ll say “I’m Bob”, or “Oh, I’m Bob” saying Bob directly doesn’t work out. Now the thing that gets me STILL is when the person says “Nice to meet you Bob” I panic because ideally the proper way to respond is “Nice to meet you too” but I was locking up/stuttering each time I was meeting a new person. On the surface my team members seem okay with it and its probably the “spotlight effect” that is hitting me hard but sometimes I wish is there any tips on being more fluent?? I was thinking of saying “Nice meeting you” but that’s usually when you are about to leave after talking to them for the first time. So maybe “Nice meeting you too” can work. I maybe overthinking lol but I was wondering if anyone has dealt with this…
