I was in speech therapy for the majority of my childhood starting when I was around 5 then did it all the way through my senior year of high school. I was able to learn some really helpful techniques and meet some amazing people through a local teen who stutter support group but I never saw the improvement I desired because I still wasn't accepting my stutter. Was always ashamed of it and tried to hide it (covert stuttering) in almost all social settings. But now that I'm getting to the point of acceptance and that freedom I want to try speech therapy again. So just have to keep on persevering and be proud of who I am which I think is a key part for a lot of us. Also, this thread has been so helpful too so you're in the right place!
