It got progressively worse when I was a kid. For most of my teens I could barely string a sentence together. I had some success with the Maguire programme when I was 19/20 but the constant focus on speech was exhausting, so I quit that to figure it out for myself. Dealing with my psychological issues is what really helped me the most, and now in my 40s it's well controlled and very mild.
