Tips for Rushing a Fraternity with a Stutter Since middle school and high school, I have dealt with a stutter mainly driven by anxiety—I don’t stutter around my family but do in most other situations outside of home. Now, I’m a freshman in college and plan to rush a fraternity this week. I want to put my best foot forward—already met a few brothers in the one I’m rushing before formal rush—and make the best impression I can as I’m really hoping to receive a bid. Stuttering can definitely make it hard for me when meeting new people, and I know my stutter will be there in some form when meeting the brothers. I guess I’m just really hoping the way that my stutter will come across does not act as a determining factor. Has anyone gone through a similar experience? Would really appreciate any advice. Thanks for reading.
