I believe the 2 million thing is inaccurate or they are counting people who stuttered when they were very young and then stopped in elementary school. My life hasn’t gone well with the stuttering and employment but perhaps it will work out for you. Sadly you just gotta keep on going. People are hypocrites and our condition which we can’t help is treated as personality flaw rather than a disability by the majority. I do believe you can make your stuttering better but don’t go out with the intention you will 100% cure it. We can speak close to fluently at times, it’s just finicky or random. If I could make my stuttering always like that it wouldn’t be so bad. Blocks are what make it especially hard, I believe we develop blocking as a technique to avoid embarrassment when we are developing so we don’t repeat sounds or make weird faces. I wish I could go back to mostly stuttering without blocks, that for me would help tremendously. Anyways, don’t go out thinking you will 100 percent cure it quickly. Rather look at it as you are learning to work with it. It is totally possible to make it manageable and to get to a point where you are almost fluent. There will be bumps along the road and don’t punish yourself if it randomly acts up along the way. We shouldn’t be the sole ones forced to change, the world should.
