My oldest never asked questions. Maybe because my stutter had some what improved. I wouldn’t stutter as much, just constantly getting suck with certain words or when nervous. (Since Covid though, my stutter has came back to haunt me) It wasn’t until my now 6 year old, who was 4 yrs old the time started stuttering that my oldest began making fun of him. My husband and I sat down with him to have the conversation we should’ve had long ago. Discussed my old elementary-high school days (college wasn’t as bad) the bullies, the finger pointing, the laughing at my face/behind my back. Anxiety. Depression. My sons face said it all, he was heartbroken. He apologized profusely. Thankfully my youngest stutter went away after a while.
