Man, listen. I'm 17, senior in high school. Been stuttering for as long as I can remember too. Like yours, my family barely understands it but luckily mine are patient and willing to hear me out about it and stuff. I know of a way to decrease the frequency of stuttering, and maybe I sound like every other person on the internet. But reading out loud every night for 15 minutes makes a difference. It did for me, anyways. Focusing on trigger letters/words and saying them out loud every day to myself helps a lot. Don't let your stutter get in the way of being social. You can be the cool, stuttering guy instead of the weird, awkward stuttering guy in class. That's how I see myself, anyways. This whole community relates 200%, and it sucks a million percent. I get it, we get it. But if you try your best, you may just decrease the issue ever so slightly enough to boost your confidence. Good luck broski.
