Hi! I am also a person who stutters. I am a college student from India. I perfectly understand what you're going through... When I was around your age, I remember my eyes filling with tears and feeling so much pain in my heart when I saw other students participating in a speech competition that I longed with all my heart to participate in, because I love public speaking just like you... but at that point I knew my stutter wouldn't let me. But I've come a long way from then. Believe me when I say, it will get better. If you find courage within yourself to brave the pain and embarrassment of a stutter, and to do things even when you're terrified and you know you might fail, you'll be able to excel at debate one day if that's your passion. I think it might help you to read an article that I wrote recently. In it, I have only talked about my childhood experiences, I have not talked about my later triumphs at all. But it might help you to relate and to accept your stutter. Here's the link to the article: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VkSIuu0_fnoRgjzBbb3_L_8zGYpYmzWrIFhodpqYUGA/edit?usp=drivesdk I'm still working on the ending, so that might be a bit unfinished. Do let me know if it helps! And pls tell me if there's any other way I can help. Take care, all the best! Dealing with a stutter is a unique and difficult journey, but there will be courage and strength that you find along the way, and ultimately triumph and wisdom at the end of it... 💜
