Anyone else have trouble connecting the first two sounds of a word?

Anyone else have trouble connecting the first two sounds of a word? Basically, my stutter has been doing this weird thing lately where I can say the first sound in a word (usually a consonant), but then I block and for the life of me can't get out the second sound in a word (usually a vowel). Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice?
