It's as true as you make it... If you're making your life decisions based on the fact that you have a stutter, you're crippling yourself. But certainly not disqualified from being a dentist or a physician. And based on a quick Google search, not necessarily disqualified from becoming a news anchor either. Especially considering you're probably still south of 30... I'm making that assumption because you're talking about choosing a career path.
