Government attorney, hit six figures in my thirties. There are few fields in which you’ll hit six figures in your twenties unless you live in a major metro (where six figures won’t get you as far anyway). I got there by being bold, and knowing I would have to the most qualified and the most prepared for every opportunity. Wound up running a state agency in my thirties and doing tons of public speaking. I still hated it every single time and wished for a non-fatal car crash on my way to some of them (so I wouldn’t have to to talk), but it did gradually get easier. And it’s easier now than it ever was, with the pervasiveness of email and the acceptance of disabilities.
