As a woman with a stutter, women process it much the same way. We largely have the same experiences as men who stutter, and it affects us the same way. Women can ask men out as well, and like someone else said, it can be daunting to turn someone down when you don't want to speak. Also, it's pretty bad when a man approaches you, and you do initially want to talk, but his reaction to your stutter is to be rude, or to make comments like "I could bang the stutter out of you," or to see his reaction going from "Aw, she's so cute and nervous she's stuttering!" (which is annoying in itself, but at least it's a positive reaction) to "Oh... this is an actual problem for her."
