Practice, practice, practice. It can make a huge difference. You don't have to be perfectly fluent to confidently socialize with peers or talk to professors. Personally I like Bill Parry's book (Understanding and controlling stuttering) but slow, loud reading also can help tremendously. Also try to cut time for professional therapy if there's an opportunity. If it's really important to you, you can definitely sacrifice a couple of hours a week to improve yourself and your life.
