Sudden Stutter After Months of Quarantine
Content
Sudden Stutter After Months of Quarantine I had stuttering issues as a child after I had ear tubes twice and they were removed without anesthesia the second time. I went to a speech therapist as a kid, and it mostly went away. I have noticed since I've been on quarantine from my job since March that my stuttering has started to come back with words beginning in "s" and "w," mostly. I've also found that there are many words that I stop and repeat halfway through. Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this? I'm a University professor and lecture all day, every day when there is not a pandemic. However, I've spent since March in near social isolation, except for my wife. So, I spend the vast majority of every day not speaking. Is this a potential cause? Thank you for your insights in advance.
