I agree with everything SammySparklyPanda and Semicoolon said. To add to their comments, I don’t think anyone should be defined by their stutter. I have a moderate to severe stutter where I block and repeat on every other sentence or so and I choose to go into medicine and be a doctor. I have been told numerous times I should quit and I’m not cut out for it but I always block out the negativity and continue on pursuing my dream and it feels great to prove the downers wrong. When shit hits the fan, I am capable (and fluent) as any other doctor and I won’t let my stutter define who I am. I’ve now decided to enter a specialty where there is a lot of talking and discussion because it’s what I love to do and far away from any acute or critical medicine not because I can’t do it, I just don’t enjoy the stress associated with that line of work. Just be you and see what you want to do in the future regardless of your stutter, put in the hard work, harder than any of your peers and you’ll succeed.
