It’s been a process! I used to do everything in my power to not stutter and I was filled with A LOT of shame and embarrassment about it. Helping others come to terms with accepting themselves for exactly who they are, encouraging them to be kind and gentle with themselves, and helping people realize they have inherent self-worth has helped me do the same with myself. Overall being in this line of work has been the best thing for me, stutter-wise. Social workers and therapists are usually kind/understanding people and that helps as well. Be gentle with yourself.
