How does stuttering affect you?

How does stuttering affect you? Hello everyone, I actually don’t have a stutter. I’ve been reading this subreddit though and started to wonder how you guys are affected by it? I don’t meet many people who have a stutter either. I remember back in elementary school there was one kid in our class who had a pretty bad stutter. When ever we had to read aloud I could tell that he was having a hard time. I could also tell that he was trying his best, I never seemed to mind it. So, I was wondering how you guys are affected. Like does it keep you from going out and talking to people? Do you ever have people look down on you because of it?
