I’ve been feeling a little negative about my stutter lately—let’s all comment something positive that has come from having a stutter Which, by the way, I know is incredibly hard to do. When my therapist first asked me to do this I wanted to throw something lol. However, upon further thought, I decided to give it an earnest try. Here’s mine: Despite my stutter, I’m one of the most articulate and well-spoken people I know. Because speech was difficult for me, I worked extra hard to be good at it. I also now never take speech and language for granted. I’m grateful for the ability to speak. I’m grateful I’m not deaf or mute. I’m grateful that I had the grit and determination to grapple with this curse in life. Maybe this happened to me because I had the strength to overcome and someone else in my position wouldn’t. Give it a try! What’s your way of trying to find a silver lining through having a stutter?
