The only time I feel guilty or in a way shameful is when I’m struggling with my speech around my Son and people that I’m not very familiar with or especially if he is introducing me to friends and/or friends parents.. He is not embarrassed and in no way makes me feel insecure he’s just 12 and he is so kind hearted.. Fortunately I played quarterback, I ran for class president every year to do the speech, and was voted class clown.. I’ve always been very lucky to be able to “find a way” to speak fluently when I am in situations like this.. Just last week I spoke to the local tenth grade class, a couple hundred kids.. Sharing my experience strength and hope about drugs and alcohol and my journey in recovery and 7 years sobriety as well as bullying and mental health and loving eachother!!! It DEFINITELY TAKES COURAGE TO STUTTER IN FRONT OF A LARGE GROUP AND NOT CARE ABOUT JUDGEMENT. BUT WE ALL NEED TO REMEMBER WHAT WE NEED TO SAY IS MORE IMPORTANT THEN WHETHER WE STUTTER OR SOME JERK-OFF LAUGHS.!! WE ARE BEAUTIFUL.. I Love You All
