Thank you for standing up. I think we all can relate to being accused of faking our stutter since it is so erratic. One moment, we can be fluent, and the very next, we start stumbling on every word. I can understand how it can be hard for some people to wrap their tiny brains around a complex and complicated concept like that. Like Hanlon's razor states - never attribute to malice what can be adequately explained by stupidity. They live in denial and don't have the basic social and life skills to appreciate and empathise with someone's life experience. I am sure these are the very people who know more about other people's jobs, you know the people who meet at parties and they try to tell you what your role is all about. I pity their limited capacity to absorb information. You've brought up some excellent points about hidden disabilities and how people tend to dismiss them. You just met a close-minded person who was not ready to accept anything beyond his world-view. Your life is better without them. And again, thank you for standing up.
