We have all been there. Standard speech therapy does not work. In fact it makes things worse. Stuttering is a neurological problem where there is a disconnect between the brain and hearing your own voice when you speak. There are only two treatments known to work; One: Breathing - where you hear a slightly different voice. Two: Prosthetics - where your voice is blocked (Edinburgh Masker) or DAF (Delayed Auditory Feedback) - where you either do not hear your voice or you hear it a fraction of a second after speaking. In my particular case, I was a severe stutterer well into my 30's. Luckily I found out about speech prosthetics and it totally changed my life for the better. All I can say is don't give up. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.
