Absolutely. When you show people that you're interested in how they're doing, it's such a good first impression. It definitely sets the tone going forward. I stutter all the time with my name when it comes to introductions. The beautiful part is that once I've gotten that part over with, I now have a genuine "Hey, what's up!" and not just saying hello to avoid coming off as rude. Plus, just being friendly feels awesome.
