I feel your pain. Something very important that is taught in speech therapy is acceptance. Accepting that you have this problem and making peace with it is much more productive than loathing it. Owning it will do away with some of the self doubt and insecurity. Speech therapy has been fairly useful to me in increasing my fluency. Maybe it would help you to try it out? Like regular therapy, the person you get first might not be a good fit.
