If you wanna learn a lot about stuttering from someone that stuttered for many years and has been very involved in the National Stuttering Association, check out this book by John Harrison called “Redefining Stuttering.” I was surprised that I found it free online as it’s such good work, and it was sold out when I looked on Amazon. It will explain the differences between childhood stuttering and adult stuttering, and how childhood stuttering is genetic, but adult stuttering isn’t genetic. In the book he actually redefined childhood stuttering by calling it “Bobulating”, something not to be concerned of. This will make sense of you give it a read. So if your child stutters (or bobulates, as used in the book), it isn’t necessarily a concern, because it likely will not go into adulthood. Congrats on the child! https://www.mnsu.edu/comdis/kuster/Infostuttering/Harrison/redefining-stuttering.pdf
